LINA-MEDICAL – we planted together 1500 trees

The year 2020 began with a pandemic earthquake that is still ongoing. Fortunately, however, our partners LiNa-Medical and Wielkopolska National Park have persevered with plans to plant 1,500 trees together.

In today’s climate full of change, young plants do not have it easy and often perish due to drought. The last two years have been a tough time for the Wielkopolska National Park, and some earlier plantings have partially failed to survive. Therefore, it was necessary to act to minimize losses.

With the help of LiNa-Medical, we were able to plant 1,500 trees in a place of absolute beauty, characterized by natural and scenic richness.

The planting was intended to replenish saplings that had withered due to drought, mainly oak (95% of the total) and individually cherry, hawthorn, rose, blackthorn, elm and field maple. The replenished saplings will allow for an even growth of the crop, earlier shading of the inter-rows, and consequently less growth of plants that drown out the growth of the trees.

The afforestation of post-agricultural land aims to return the area to pre-clearance times, enriching the crops with a variety of tree and shrub species, causing the animal world to migrate to the previously degraded area. The return of animals, both insects and birds, will later result in the return of herbaceous plants to their former habitats.

National Park worth visiting

If you have never been to the Wielkopolska National Park, be sure to plan a trip there. Charming deciduous forests, which are distinguished by great biodiversity, meadows, lakes. In the undergrowth you will find, among other things, the rare golden lily, and in the rhododendron a species that is difficult to meet – the rowan. Here we also have beautiful riparian forests, which you will find on the banks of numerous bodies of water. And as a curiosity you can consider the occurrence of carnivorous plants in the Park, these include round-leaved sundew, common floater, small floater and intermediate floater.

The faunal world is also rich. Insects are represented by more than 3,000 species, and birds by about 220. We also have a wealth of fish, of which 4 species are under strict protection.

You are cordially invited to visit this beautiful place, and even more to help it by participating in the VOLUNTEERS organized there. It will certainly be to the benefit of all parties.

Many thanks to LiNa-Medical, without whom we could not have planted the 1,500 trees there.
